Grace & Jarred Wedding: Soft Beachside Beauty

To say that this couple likes to have a good time would be a serious understatement.  A perfect blend of sophistication and fun, Grace and Jarred chose the perfect color palette for their venue, the Scripps Seaside Forum, of ivory, blush, blue and green.  Everything looked gorgeous from the stunning ceremony canopy studded with blooms to the dramatic centerpieces.

There were so many fun details at this wedding, lets start with the personal flowers and work our way through the ceremony and the reception.

Grace’s stunning bridal bouquet was a mixture of roses, spray roses, calla lilies, dusty miller, succulents, fragrant peonies and delicate gardenias.  The detailed handle contained ruffled ivory satin with crystal, pearl, and chain detailing.

Her bridesmaids bouquets complimented the warm blue tone of their dresses perfectly, blending soft with bold.

The men wore simply understated boutonnieres of grouped ivory spray roses with brazilia accents.

The flower covered canopy was the essence of elegance, with soft sheer ivory silk softly blowing in the wind and crystal pendants hanging across the back glittering in the sunlight.

Placecard table.

Two types of centerpieces were involved in this reception, short grape wood branches were stuffed with ivory and blush blooms, surrounded by our footed mercury glass candle holders.  tall sandblasted manzanita branches were studded with blush roses, delicate ivory orchids, organic succulents and fluffy hydrangea.  Hanging Swarovski crystal strands held glittering french cut crystal pendants.

Featured Bouquet Inspiration: Exquisite Weddings Spring 2012

When asked to create a purple bouquet for an Exquisite Weddings Inspiration shoot, we jumped at the opportunity to do something a bit unique.  We created a very highly textured, tight bouquet ranging in purple tones from plum to bright fuchsias including roses, spray roses, dusty miller, anemones, succulents and various orchids to name a few.  We finished the handle with fun ruffles and pearl accents.  The bouquet was flawlessly captured by Eddie Garcia III of E3 Photography.

We adore Exquisite Weddings Magazine and always eagerly anticipate the arrival of their magazines to check out all of the gorgeous work of our peers.  In this issue, we had the honor of pairing with the FABULOUS Cynthia Zatkin, owner of Cynthia Zatkin Events.  Together, we worked on a color palette of various pinks with a fun pop of warm navy blue.  We were so happy when we heard the photography would be done by the VERY talented duo at Studio Carre, who always capture each detail so beautifully.  The setting could not have been more beautiful, centered directly on the beach at the Hilton Mission Bay.  Our florals were placed atop our rustic, distressed wood stands to match small wood boxes.  French cut Swarovski crystal pendant detailing gave the table a bit of understated glamour.

The beautiful and fun paper goods gave extra life to the table and were created by Nic.Roc. Designs and the fun red velvet cake pops (they were SO delicious) were provided by Cake Ball Love.

Inna & Matthew: Parisian Estate Elegance in Rancho Santa Fe

It is always fun for us to meet a bride who is as passionate about her wedding flowers as we are, so when the FABULOUS Krystel Tien, owner of Couture Events, brought Inna to our studio for the first time, we knew without a shadow of a doubt that this wedding was going to be SPECTACULAR… and with True Photography taking the photos, it did not disappoint!!!  The wedding was set at the elegant garden-esque Emma Estate in Rancho Santa Fe, complete with a custom tent and a FABULOUSLY detailed cocktail hour.

Inna chose a gorgeous floral palette of ivory, soft blush, pale pink, and lavender, emphasizing her love for peonies and lilac.  We created her bridal bouquet from pink peonies, pink and ivory garden roses, pale blush stock, white ranunculus, and soft lavender lilac.

Her bridesmaids carried simple blush and ivory bouquets of stock, roses and ranunculus.

The groom wore a tight grouping of white ranunculus buds while the groomsmen wore blush spray roses paired with blush rice flower.

Cocktail hour was set by the pool, which contained 3 fabulous floating floral arrangements containing romantic pillar candles.  We attached glittering Swarovski crystal strands and hanging candles to delicately drip from the surrounding trees and seating area.

The ceremony was almost as gorgeous as the bride herself, ripe with crystal and dripping in flowers.  Our gorgeous crystal chandelier was hung in the center of the archway, foreshadowing what was to come in the beautiful tented reception.

The breathtaking reception was crystal studded with GORGEOUS crystal chandeliers provided by Concepts Event Design and our fabulous crystal candelabras topped with lush floral arrangements of hydrangea, roses, spray roses, peonies, garden roses and lilac.  Our glowing mercury glass candle holders and chic ivory urn vases were placed in between each candelabra, lush with florals to match the taller arrangements.

Annie & Paul Wedding: Modern City Sophistication at Andaz Rooftop

Highschool sweethearts Annie and Paul had killer style and wanted to emphasize fun, modern sophistication for their fall wedding on the GORGEOUS rooftop at the Andaz Hotel in the heart of downtown San Diego.  Annie chose a neutral color palette of ivory, nude and natural green, which complimented the space perfectly.  We were lucky enough to work with the VERY talented and organized Amy Vargas, owner of First Comes Love on this beautiful soiree.

She carried a beautiful, organic bouquet of cymbidium orchids, lady slipper orchids, roses, spray roses, lisianthus, and fragrant gardenias.

So as to not compete with the beautiful views, the ceremony decor was kept short, mainly consisting of floating candles, shimmering glass cylinder vases, ivory petals to soften the cement floor, and submerged cymbidium orchids.

Organic sandblasted grapewood accents were placed around the event, adorned with succulents and orchids.

The candle-studded reception created a warm, romantic atmosphere.  Fabulously detailed and unique centerpieces consisted of black metal trays filled with slate rocks.  Three square vases were placed in the trays, topped with organic sandblasted grapewood branches.  Exotic white phalaenopsis orchids delicately dripped from the wood to the table.  Organic succulents, fragrant gardenias, and vibrant cymbidium orchids were placed around orchids, both attached to the wood and also placed along the table to compliment the mercury glass candles.

Jen & Tomer Wedding : A Night at the Museum

The San Diego Museum of Art at Balboa Park is not only home to a world renowned art collection, it is also a fabulously chic special events venue, with both indoor and outdoor options for a fabulous bash!  We always love working with the beautiful and talented Melissa Barrad, owner of I Do…Weddings.

Jen chose a classic, soft and elegant color palette of ivory, champagne, and blush and carried a gorgeous bouquet of roses, garden roses, ranunculus and spray roses finished in a champagne satin ribbon with a delicate lace overlay and pearl accents.

Tomer wore a simple, fun and fresh boutonniere of grouped ranunculus.

The stunningly romantic, candle-lit ceremony took place inside the lobby of the museum.  Our gorgeous ivory canopy was beautifully draped in a sheer ivory fabric, romantically pooling at all four feet.  Guests were able to see through to the dramatic candle-covered staircase.

Jen chose an elegant outdoor reception with a mixture of round and rectangular tables. Three types of centerpieces gracefully topped the tables; tall shaped cylinder vases contained lush, round ivory and blush arrangements of delicate ivory hydrangea, white stock, blush roses and spray roses.  Footed cylinder vases placed at varying heights were filled with homogeneous ivory and blush florals.  The third centerpiece was a simply understated glass bubble vase filled with mixture of ivory and blush blooms.

The fabulous details were flawlessly captured by the fantastic team at Studio Carre, who not only take amazing photos, but are also SO quick to edit and get the photos to their clients and vendors.

Love, etc. : US Grant Wedding Showcase 2012

We had such a great time creating our table design for the 2012 US Grant wedding showcase; Love, etc.  We also separately collaborated on the floral for the table of Couture Events and the W hotel.  We’ll discuss all three tables, but lets start with ours!

With so many different looks and styles we adore, we finally decided to stick with…wait for it…BLUSH!  We created an ultra glamorous table with a chic color scheme of charcoal, silver, white, ivory and blush tones.  What could be more inspiring for our table than our GORGEOUSLY FABULOUS crystal candelabras.  It is always very important for us to create centerpieces that do not obstruct guest conversations, therefore we normally create low or very tall centerpieces.  In order to really stand out and create some serious drama, we chose to do BOTH.  We created a table runner of hand painted silver grapewood branches intertwined with the bases of the candelabras and covered in a lush floral runner of delicate ivory hydrangea, white ranunculus, blush roses, and silver pod accents, all placed atop a mirrored runner, amplifying the candlelight.  Our candelabras were topped with lush ivory and blush arrangements of hydrangea, roses, spray roses, and exotic white phalaenopsis orchid stems.  All of it was captured so flawlessly by the FABULOUS Desiree Rohlfs Photography.

To create a backdrop of sorts, we placed a silver manzanita branch atop a white pedestal to romantically drip Swarovski crystal strands above the table.

We absolutely LOVE Krystel Tien, owner of Couture Events and were so honored when she asked us to collaborate with her on the florals for her beautiful table.  She chose a beautiful soft pink, orange and yellow color scheme and wanted show-stopping glamour.  the fantastic white table was provided by Concepts Event Design and we provided our gold candelabra, dripping with Swarovski crystal accents, two of our crystal candelabras, our gold urn vases and an ornate, detailed floral table runner.

Centerpieces included hydrangea, stock, french tulips, spray roses, roses and peonies- to name a few.  Peonies were placed on each plate.  Details were beautifully captured by the very talented Bryan Miller of Bryan Miller Photography.

We collaborated with the fantastic Liz Beck of Liz Beck Events to create this unique, ombre floral table runner in shades of orange to fuschia.  The beautiful photo was taken by Gene Higa Photography & Mandala Weddings Photography

Julie & Josiah Wedding : Modern Sophistication

With such detailed beauty, it is hard to believe that this gorgeous and unique wedding came together in only a month!  The lovely bride came to us without an exact vision of what she wanted and together with the oh-so-talented Thomas Bui, of Thomas Bui Lifestyle, this stunningly fresh design concept came together flawlessly!

Julie carried a vibrant and textured bouquet of soft ivory and lavender tones paired with vibrant purple with green pops made from roses, spray roses, orchids, calla lilies and freesia.

Josiah wore a boutonniere coordinating with the bridal bouquet; an ivory calla lily paired with a vibrant mokara orchid.

The striking cobalt blue of the elegant floor length bridesmaids dresses paired beautifully with the lavender and bright purple bouquets of orchids and roses.

Place cards were placed in classic deep wood stained boxes filled with vibrant green reindeer moss and bright purple orchid accents.  Our boxes were delicately wrapped in a cobalt blue satin ribbon with rhinestone detailing.

The stunning and unique reception was a perfect mixture of modern and traditional, pairing vibrant colors and sleek centerpieces with the traditional and regal ballroom of the Prado at Balboa Park.  Gorgeous apple green shantung linens were provided by the fabulous Concept Event Design team, and coordinated PERFECTLY with the fresh green stems of the ivory french tulips that dripped from the exquisite centerpieces.

A trio of tall, clean and elegant glass cylinder vases were grouped in the center of the guest tables, each containing a fantastically romantic bouquet of dripping soft ivory french tulips, gracefully spilling out in three directions.  Bouquet groupings were fused together with vibrant, exotic purple/fuschia mokara orchids, adding life and color to each centerpiece.  Centerpieces was surrounded by a tall, romantic mercury glass candle trio placed at varied heights, adding romantic lighting, playing with the water filled cylinder vases, and complimenting mercury glass votive groupings that were placed in between them.  The beautiful head table was topped with a sleek mirrored runner, amplifying candlelight and delicate orchid blooms placed on the table.

Each setting of the head table contained a single, exotic purple mokara orchid bloom.

The beautiful wedding cake was perfectly detailed in black swirling sugar formations, complimented by purple mokara orchids.

The beautifully ornate Founders Chapel was simply accented with two centerpieces placed atop tall white pedestals.  With such a gorgeously detailed church, we always suggest not overpowering the venue with combating decor.

Every beautiful detail was captured so beautifully by Narrative Images Photography.
